Private-label shampoo and hair-care sourcing
Keep shampoo and conditioner as separate items even when ordered as a range. Share the intended user, texture, fragrance direction and packaging. Ask suppliers which attributes can be selected from existing products and which require development. Evaluate samples using your defined criteria before approving formula and pack details.
Body wash, bath products and soap
Liquid products bring fill and closure decisions; bars bring shape, weight and wrapping decisions. An attractive reference photo is useful for direction but does not define the product specification. A comparable quote should identify the sample reference, pack material, quantity basis and decoration work.
- Record the bottle or bar dimensions and the complete retail presentation.
- Ask who supplies the formula, fills or forms the product, and purchases the packaging.
- Keep sample revisions and packaging approval in the same dated project record.
Hand-wash products and refill packaging
Define the cleansing product and its intended use before requesting pump bottles or refill pouches. Check dispensing, closure and leakage using the chosen product. Any specialised product claims need their own evidence and destination review; they are not inferred from a supplier's category listing.
Wipes: sheet, liquid and pack as one specification
Sheet size, material, count and moisture description affect both the sample and the quote. Review the resealable opening and the full pack, not only a loose sheet. Tell the supplier where and how the wipes will be used so the request can be screened for an appropriate product and documentation route.
Supplier documents, samples and order scope
Request the product information the selected supplier can actually provide, then review destination requirements with the appropriate specialists. The procurement file should identify sample approval, batch traceability, packaging artwork and transport information. MOQ and development cost are confirmed per product and pack, not for the entire category.
