Start with the finished perfume you want to buy

Our current perfume sourcing focus is available finished products. Send a photo or SKU list and tell us how many cartons you need. We confirm each style's stock, bottles per carton, retail pack and quotation before you place the order.

• One-carton starting quantities apply to available finished styles; confirm the quantity for each reference in the quotation.
• State the destination and required timing so shipment arrangements can be assessed for the actual goods.
• If you need a different fragrance, logo, bottle or box, flag that at the start so the development work is quoted separately.

Compare finished perfume suppliers on the same order basis

Identify every product by its supplier reference, fragrance, concentration, volume and retail pack. Ask who is selling the goods and which supply records support the transaction and intended resale route. Keep current availability separate from catalogue images, and record sample identifiers and batch information where provided.

• Use one comparison sheet for SKU, units, currency, product price, sample charge, packing, lead time and excluded costs.
• Confirm the per-SKU minimum and whether mixed assortments are accepted. Order totals do not replace each supplier's conditions.
• Check the filled bottle, closure, label, retail box and export carton against the approved sample before release.

Can your perfume order use Yiwu procurement-location inspection?

The official Yiwu platform published an updated cosmetics product-and-destination list on 8 April 2026, effective from 7 April. Our reading of the Chinese attachment, checked on 16 September 2026: it names solid fragrance balms/powders and certain fragrance oils, and expressly excludes products involving dangerous goods. It does not name liquid perfume as a separate entry. An alcohol-based spray perfume therefore needs an exact product and transport-classification check; the word cosmetics is not enough to establish eligibility.

• Destination check: the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Singapore appear in this attachment. Germany, France and the United States are not named. Check the current list and proposed declaration route with the exporter before promising shipment.
• Product check: keep the exact formulation, use, SKU and batch tied to the exporter’s classification and eligibility confirmation. A solid fragrance or oil is not automatically eligible simply because its category appears.
• Company check: the pilot also requires eligible enterprises and product traceability. Ask the exporter to confirm the relevant producer/shipper records and traceability arrangement for your order.

What to send before a perfume freight quote

Give the forwarder the actual product file, not just a photo of the bottle. DHL’s published guidance explains why alcohol-containing perfume often requires dangerous-goods handling; acceptance still depends on the shipment, origin, destination and carrier service. Have the appointed carrier confirm the classification, paperwork and packing before booking.

• Supplier: provide the current safety data sheet (SDS), exact formulation reference, flash-point information where relevant, bottle volume and closure type. Keep these matched to the goods being purchased.
• Packing: record bottles per inner pack, cartons, gross weights, dimensions and the proposed leak/breakage protection. Have the carrier confirm any required packaging, marking and documents.
• Quote: request the accepted route, handling charges, insurance terms and exclusions in writing. A product sample approval does not approve the transport route.
• Empty bottles: identify unfilled packaging separately. Do not apply the filled-cosmetics pilot or a liquid-product transport classification simply because the bottle is intended for perfume.

Keep the destination-market file separate from China export clearance

For an EU buying project, identify the EU responsible person and the product-specific safety assessment, product information file, label review and CPNP notification before market placement. These are destination obligations under the EU cosmetics framework; a Chinese export procedure does not complete them. For other markets, have the importer identify its applicable requirements before approving the order.

• Record who supplies the formulation and test information, who reviews the safety and label file, and who makes the required notification.
• Ask for an itemised gap list and owner for each missing document. Product availability, export eligibility, carrier acceptance and permission to sell are separate decisions.

Private-label perfume: confirm feasibility before production scope

Fragrance changes and custom bottle or box development can be discussed as a separate project. Development generally needs a longer cycle than buying available finished stock. Send the fragrance direction, packaging references and quantities so supplier capability, samples, development work and timing can be reviewed. • Separate fragrance development, sample revisions, bottle decoration and production quotations.
• Confirm what formulation information and destination documents the selected supplier can provide.

Perfume oils, roll-ons and their packaging

Specify the intended application and ask for the relevant product information before choosing a roll-on or other applicator. Check closure fit, leakage, label adhesion and compatibility using the actual liquid and pack. Product names alone do not establish suitability for a destination or a shipping method.

Discovery sets and fragrance gift boxes

A multi-fragrance set combines separate liquid quantities, filling runs and packing steps. Give each fragrance and vial a clear identifier. Compare the order minimum per fragrance, vial printing or labels, insert fit and assembly work. The sample approval should include the complete set as it will be sold.

Body mist projects need their own sample and route review

Provide the desired liquid format, spray style, volume and positioning. Ask suppliers to explain how the proposed product differs from their perfume offer. Confirm samples and transport documentation for that product before treating it as an extension of an existing order.

Supplier information and shipment preparation

Ask which ingredient, safety, labelling and product records are available for the exact SKU, including its safety data sheet where applicable. Share alcohol or composition information, destination port, quantities and proposed shipment method so the forwarder can assess the actual goods. Carrier acceptance and handling must be confirmed before planning the shipment; a container estimate does not establish that perfume can travel with other goods.

• Record bottle, pump, cap and box details with the approved filled sample.
• Keep the supplier's quote date, quantity basis and packaging assumptions visible.
• Use destination specialists for product requirements that go beyond supplier sourcing.
